25 Years of Musical Enjoyment

On Saturday, 9 September the entire band played at the 25th Anniversary of African Skye at the Jeppe High School for Boys Innovation Centre.

The function was attended by current members, past members and a variety of people who have been involved in the band since its inception. The band is very proud to be able to celebrate this milestone anniversary.

LGBTQ+ Pride Parade

(Saturday, 05 October 2024)

We were invited to participate in the Pretoria LGBTQ+ Pride Parade once again this year, a street parade for Pride, a vibrant and colourful celebration of LGBTQ+ rights, love, and diversity.

The march was filled with banners, flags (especially the rainbow Pride flag), and participants in creative costumes, as well as floats, motorbikes, and of course, the African Skye Pipe Band. We led the parade and we hope that all the participants enjoyed the day!

We are proud of...

Congratulations Richard Prall! Richard received an award from African Skye Pipe Band management for his tribute to all the front-line workers during the COVID lockdown. He managed to play his bagpipes CONSECUTIVELY for a period of 210 days and nearly 300 days in total!

In the picture below Richard receives his award after the band played at their first parade for a long time because of the pandemic.

First day out...

On the 3rd October 2021 we attended our first day out playing music again! It was a great day to be at the Horse Derby in Kyalami. Great to catch up with good mates again!
